So I decided to do a quick trip to an area about an hour and a half from Truckee. Left Sunday night got to where I planned on camping and it was closed for the season, oops . But I was able to secure a nice Hipcamp site for the two nights I planned on staying, and it $35/night.

I got up the next day and drove to a bike area called Rock Creek. This is a moto and Mtn Bike and equestrian, but from what say it is mostly moto. I tried climbing a couple different trails that were naked as blue, no dice. The trail ratings in this area are for motos so keep that in mind if you go to explore it. Anyway I decided to use the old tried and true up the road and down the single track, great choice but since these really are moto trails even decending was a bit above the rating give but I thought it was super fun and I would go back.

So back to riding up the road, within about a half mile from where I parked is a sign that says the road has been washed, we'll come back this because a little farther up the road I see a bobcat just meandoring up the road first thing to hit my mind was wow that's a big bob car, second thought to hit me was wow bobcat tails don't usually go to the ground third thought and probably the most important was oh shit that's a mountain lion. At this point I was way to close for my own comfort so I simply spoke up the lion turned looked at me then ran up the hillside. One of the really amazing things was as it darted off into the woods there really was no sound.

A little further up the road I discovered that the sign at the bottom was not exaggerating.

Well that night I had some medical issues so I broke camp and headed home.
