Today got side lined but hey this is the nature of bike touring. I had to decide to either cut the day short and do a long one tomorrow or do an 86 mile day today, probably ending in the dark. I chose for short today, so I got a room in King City CA. The day was chilly most of the day I never took off my "Rain" jacket. Leaving the campground at Arroyo Seco was down right cold but a lovely ride none the less. Got to Greenfield and stopped to a burrito when I was told the campground I was heading for was closed. So over a very nice burrito from La Plaza Bakery I made the decision to cut it short and go for the safety of a room tonight and get out early in the morning.

The ride between Greenfield and King City is through some of the less thought about areas of California, Ag. Winter is when they are getting the fields ready for the next crop, hell I think they grow year around out here.

Quick side note, I have heard people express fear of riding around Ag equipment and farm workers, but most people have been great I bet 50% of the vehicles I have passed have gone so far as to wave. I am holding to my belief that most people are really good and when you are just out for a ride with panniers on for some reason folks are just friendlier. Hell I got stopped at a railroad crossing and was standing next to a guy in his pick up and we had a delightful conversation while waiting for the train to pass.
