Well I actually had someone ask about my bike set up, so I thought I'd write this post and provide a quick walk though of my bike set up.

To start; my bike is a 2011 Salsa Vaya that I had Steve Rex (frame builder extraordinaire) cut in half and install S&S couplers.

I am running flat bars with bar ends and Profile Aero clip ons, thus providing lots-o-hand positions. Saddle of choice is a Sella Italia silly expensive saddle. Im not going to bore you with all the drive train details but the gist is 3X11. For cargo I use Tubas racks and Ortlieb panniers, durable and waterproof. I also have a Revelate Design handlebar bag, Rockgeist feedbag and Tailfin top tube bag. As to the qualities I look for in the bags I choose is to minimize the dependence on zippers and water resistance.

Now lets go into the tech I plan on carrying. Kim and I both have Garmin Edge 1040 Solar, these units do way more then we need but they do everything we want; we think. Now the biggest hurdle with the Garmin is learning how to use them.

I have a JBL Wind3 for my during ride beats, and JBL Jibe buds for off bike listening pleasure. We also have headlights, headlamps and tail lights. So the big question is how do we keep this stuff powered? I had a wheel built with a Schmidt Son 28 Dynamo hub, wired up to a Tout Terrain Cinq 6 with a Nightcore Gen3 NB20000 battery pack.
